Professor Jarosław Kuisz

Jarosław Kuisz is an Associate of Russian and East European Studies (REES) at the Oxford University School for Global and Area Studies (University of Oxford).
He is an Editor-in-Chief of the Polish online intellectual weekly Kultura Liberalna, Senior Fellow and Program Director for Liberal Democracy at the Zentrum Liberale Moderne in Berlin; Assistant Professor of Global Legal History at the University of Warsaw, associated with L'Institut d'Histoire du Temps Présent, CNRS in Paris.
His book “The new politics of Poland. A case of post-traumatic sovereignty” (Manchester University Press) was ranked among the best books of 2024, according to “Foreign Affairs”. In the last co-written book “The Posttraumatic Sovereignty” (two editions: Suhrkamp, 2023; Bundeszentrale für politische Bildung, Bonn 2024) Kuisz focused on the history of Eastern Europe in the 20-21th century.
He is currently writing a book on a populism, post-populism and history for the Suhrkamp publishing house (to be published in 2025).
