In a dynamic research environment, OSGA explores cultural, economic, political, and social questions through the study of world regions in local, global, and comparative contexts. Employing qualitative, quantitative, and computational methods with a strong ethical foundation, our interdisciplinary research aims to impact and benefit the economy, society, culture, and public policy beyond academia.

Early Career Research Fellowships

The OSGA Research Strategy is committed to attracting talented early career researchers (ECRs) and fostering a dynamic, supportive research environment.

Africa Oxford Initiative

The AfOx Visiting Fellowship Programme enhances academic mobility and network building. The programme supports leading African scholars and researchers working in any academic discipline to focus on a project they choose while in Oxford. A number of the AfOx fellowships are offered in collaboration with key partners at the University of Oxford, including the African Studies Centre at OSGA.
